Cancellation Policy

Booking, Payment, and Deposit

Private Guiding: I require full payment for 1-day workshops at the time of booking. Multi-day private sessions require a 50% deposit on the agreed upon rate

Group Workshops: For multi-day workshops, you have the option of initially paying a deposit or the workshop fees in full. When paying the deposit, the final balance will be due 60 days before the workshop start date. I will send out an email letting folks know final payment invoices will be sent out. If you cancel at any time, the deposit amount is non-refundable unless I am able to fill your spot. The entire workshop fee is due and becomes non-refundable and non-transferable 60 days before the workshop start date. With regards to hotels, I book most of the lodging at a group rate. If you cancel with enough time, I will always strive to get your lodging costs back to you, even on last minute cancellations. Please note, refunds are subject to a 5% processing fee as credit card processors are no longer refunding fees to me. 

For photographers who are traveling for workshops, I strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance to cover your costs in case of cancellation or withdrawal.

Rainy Day Policy

If it’s stormy or rainy, 9 times out of 10 we will still conduct the workshop. This is due to a number of reasons including the unpredictability of the weather, and the difficulties of rescheduling a large number of individuals. In addition many dramatic landscape and seascape images are captured during stormy weather due to the extra drama. I will never cancel a workshop based on the forecast unless the forecast calls for severe weather making the workshop unsafe. If the weather is deemed unsafe, I will strive to give as much lead time as possible before the workshop. I cannot offer refunds for a weather related cancelation, but I will offer credit towards a future workshop.

Under-Subscription

My workshops require a minimum of three participants. In the case of under-subscription I reserve the right to cancel the workshop, in which case your registration will be transferred to another workshop of your choosing or you may request a refund.
