2020 Olympic Photography Workshop Recap

photographer setting up shot with tripod along mossy creek

First off, a big “thank you” to Mark, Jim, Forest, and Tyler and my assistant Vinny for attending the Olympic National Park photo workshop. I enjoyed showing you some of my favorite spots along the peninsula under different conditions than originally planned. Some of the locations were simply beautiful with autumn colors dotting the landscape.

We got a chance to see a little bit of everything, from the rugged coast, waterfalls, tranquil lakes, and the rain forest. We were very fortunate with the weather, despite the haze, and I’m happy we got in as much shooting as we did. The trip up to Hurricane Ridge, albeit long, was a highlight for me.

A quick recap of locations:

Thursday sunset – Rialto Beach
Friday sunrise – Lake Crescent
Friday day – Sol Duc Falls and River,
Friday sunset – Hurricane Ridge
Saturday sunrise – Beach 4 & Tree of Life
Saturday day – Merriman Falls, Bunch Falls, and Kestner Homestead Trail
Saturday sunset – Ruby Beach!
Sunday sunrise – Rialto Beach

I hope you enjoyed the workshop and look forward to seeing you again!

-Jim
