After at Steamer Lane, we proceeded to head up
to Bean Hollow, a cool little beach and rocky coastline just
south of Pescadero. The winds were howling, and we laughed like
little kids as the wind pushed us around to the point where you
felt like it could knock you over. We explored the cove, north
and south, and found a myriad of possibilities. Amazing rock
formations, but rugged as all hell. Our footprints on the beach
were erased by the wind within minutes. Did I mention it was
windy?
After some trash clean up and getting hit by 30 foot high
spray from a rogue wave, we retreated back down Highway 1 and
settled in on the bluffs overlooking Big Basin and Año
Nuevo State Parks. On the drive up, I spotted a little pull
out with some nicely colored ice plant to add a little foreground
warmth to the sweeping vista.
