Meow!
After work on Tuesday, I gunned it up the coast to catch
sunset at Panther Beach. I was in a rush, and I figured I
could go to one of the spots I have shot at before from this
beach. I now have a few spots that I really like here as
evidenced by my new Panther
Beach Set.
I was shocked at how much trash had accumulated over the
weekend, and I can only imagine it will get worse over the
summer. I am getting closer to forming my Panther Beach Clean-up
crew of thoughtful photographers who have told me they would
love to help in a clean up effort. More details on that as
they surface.
Anyway, I scrambled down the trail to the beach, cursing
the drunken party-goers along the way. As I was about to
duck through the hole in the wall and head south, I abruptly
stopped as something was blocking my path.
Down on all fours with a piercing stare, was a "panther".
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the infamous Panther Beach bikini
models were there, complete with light umbrellas, a photographer
and his assistant.
Meow! Now I know why it is called Panther Beach.
I set up in the creek just on the other side of the "panther",
and proceeded to do my thing. As I was shooting, a cigarette
butt floated down stream. Sigh. I would have liked to have
gotten closer, but the big sets would wash all the way up
to where I was standing. In the end, I liked the warmth of
the sand, the reflection of the setting sun, and the creek
leading you out to sea.
