Be Prepared For Anything
As my girlfriend and I sat in the light rain watching the
ocean and various shades of gray clouds pass overhead, I
kept hoping for some sort of miracle. I scanned the sky for
any possible breaks in the clouds. There really didn’t
look like any chance in hell of coming home with any kind
of shots…unless you like lots of water droplets all
over the image. I certainly don’t.
We hoped for something, anything. Yet it rained lightly
and there was no place to hide. So we got damper and damper.
Just enough rain to keep the camera in the bag, but not enough
to bail out on the potential for some magic.
Seemingly out of nowhere, the sun burnt a hole in the sky,
and some gloriously warm light beamed down upon us. We frantically
unpacked, and my filters were still getting a light mist
of water from the last bit of rain. I grabbed the chamois,
wiped those bad boys down as the last of the rain stopped,
and I scrambled for a shot.
You see, we both had spent most of our time hanging out
waiting for the rain to stop sitting on some rocks. Note
to self: find a good location to shoot before the
light breaks!
Be prepared for anything.
