Cerise in the kelp forest along Cannery Point
|
| Did two shore dives at Point Lobos...before work!
First time out with Cerise. I'll either need to get bigger tanks
or stick a camera in her hands so our air consumption evens out.
;-) Really though, two hour long dives to 80' and 70' with 20-40'
visibility. No surge. Winter diving is great when it's calm.
The usual suspects. Lingcod, kelp greenlings, cabezon, red rockfish,
huge copper rockfish and the assortment of invertebrates you
come to expect at Point Lobos. |

Leopard Shark in Whaler's Cove
|
| Oh yeah, we saw a leopard shark on both dives (most
likely NOT the same one). Ask Cerise, I predicted this (well,
the possibility of seeing them). Usually they are a skittish
shark as I have seen them a dozen times or so and they always
bolt when approached. Not this one. Maybe it was sleeping or
simply blinded by my strobes. |
